Service Description
Support Illuminated by Nature at Firefly Grove! A farm-based program for adults with disabilities where participants spend time in nature while engaging in gardening, animal care, and guided farm activities in a supportive setting. Completing the raised-bed culinary garden at Firefly Grove will transform it into a living classroom and food resource. Volunteers will help increase access to fresh, healthy produce for program participants, provide hands-on culinary and gardening education, create therapeutic outdoor space for youth and adults, and strengthen community ties through shared stewardship. Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes Key Responsibilities: Terracing the existing garden and placing raised beds in them Filling the raised beds with soil and plants Volunteers may also plant flowers and succulents and seed. Attire: Closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade, so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat. Bring: Water Physical Requirements: Some lifting (can stay within your ability) and standing for an hour at a time. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations through adaptive gardening tools and garden seats to accommodate individuals that can't stand for long periods of time. Unfortunately, the space where this project takes place is not wheelchair accessible.


















Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION: Client may cancel or reschedule the reservation within 48 hours for a full refund. Less than 48 hours is non-refundable. Can’t make it but know someone who’d love it? Substitutions are always welcome at no cost. LATE ARRIVAL: Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may result in a shortened experience, and arrivals more than 30 minutes late may be considered a no-show. Late arrivals are not eligible for extensions or refunds. TRANSPORTATION & PARKING: Firefly Grove can accommodate a maximum of 20 cars, or 2 busses. All vehicles must be parked inside the property gates at all times. Larger groups should plan to arrive a few minutes early to get settled in. FINAL HEADCOUNT: If you are unsure of your final group headcount prior to booking, we recommend booking for the minimum number to lock in your date. Additional guests may be added on with 48 hours and billed separately. ATTIRE: Firefly Grove is an outdoor working farm. Close toed shoes are REQUIRED. Comfortable clothing, sun protection and layers are reccommended. Guests should be prepared for dirt, uneven ground, plants, animals, and changing weather. PETS & SERVICE ANIMALS: Pets are not allowed. If service animals will be present, you must notify us in advance. Our Livestock Guardian Dogs roam the property freely. Guests with severe allergies or phobias of dogs may not be well suited. ADULT SUPERVISION: For participants under 18, we require a minimum of 1 adult chaperone per 6 children. Chaparones are responsible for helping students follow farm safety guidelines throughout the visit. OUTSIDE FOOD & BEVERAGE: Outside food & beverage is permitted during your activity (ie. picnic, snacks). Guests are responsible for cleaning up all debris. Food not allowed inside animal areas. Alcohol is not permitted. WEATHER Our experiences are primarily outdoors and continue in most light weather conditions. Please come prepared for sun, dirt, uneven terrain, seasonal temperatures, and light rain. If Firefly Grove determines that weather conditions are unsafe, we’ll contact you to reschedule. Guest-requested cancellations due to weather are subject to our standard cancellation policy.
